(Text from Advertising Campaign for „Elysium“, SciFi film by Neil Blomkamp, released in 2013)

This photo series and book resulted from a walk through the city of London in 2013, after an absence of around fifteen years. Looking up at the sky with the planes passing by every five minutes, registering building activities, instructions, signs, advertising, surveillance cameras and spaces of passage. Accidentally passing through public space, in the tradition of the old flaneur, pondering on the articulation of the private and the public today, the effect of capital on living conditions and wondering if not only the advertising campaign for the film has become a game between fiction and reality. My visit coincided with the release of the film Elysium and the accidental encounter with some of its adds in the subway connected the rest of the images taken, at least in my head.  The series takes the form of a film, in allusion, as a series of stills, hovering between fiction, media reference and in the end, reality.

In their recombinations and juxtaposistions the images of this photo series evoke an imaginary film, hyperreal.
